I am the Level III at a small firm in the North Eastern US who has the dubious honor of doubling our FPI staff capabilities. Since the presently qualified personnel consist of one Level II and me, it would not seem too daunting a task. However, I have only been here three weeks, have gone through the necessary re-qualifications required when you change jobs (WHY can't we bring our certs with us?) and survived three audits...one of them Nadcap, and am in the midst of a R&R. In other words, life has been busy.
My question is this.... instead of re-inventing the wheel, is there any source out there that would be of assistance in developing a lesson plan? The requirements are now 16 hours each of classroom, as well as the usual experience as stated in 410, so I have to present the pertinent information in a manner that doesn't stimulate (simulate?) a lethargic condition. Rolling Eyes

I have the recommended practices from SNT-TC-1A, a copy of Vol. 2 of liquid Penetrant Testing from ASNT, some of my old tests and of course the Principles of Penetrants.
Any Ideas?

Short of paying someone like me to provide you with lesson plans, you can take the materials you have and develop a lesson plan. It will be "reinventing the wheel" but it won't cost much. Look at http://www.ndt-ed.org/EducationResources/CommunityCollege/PenetrantTest/cc_pt_index.htm for a good outline.
