hi all
how are you i hope that all of you are in good helth condition
dear sirs:
i was inspect journal bearing of a steam turbine to check the cohesion force between the clading (white metal) and the base metal using a krautkramer USK 7B instrument and a G5MN probe, contact method and i got echos from the back surface of the clading in some points as shown in the attached file that means there are some discontinuity between the white metal and the base metal ( i did this test the first time).
dose that means the bearing is rejected if yes what are your recommendation to repair it to remove all the clading and replace it by new or to remove only the deffected part and rebuild it , if i can rebuild the difected part only (because of the high cost of replacing all the while metal)the connection between the old clading and the new part will be enough.
please if any one can help
thank you very much
