|
I have a customer who needs some help in detecting IGSCC. The piping is Hastalloy material and I had thought of using the ID Creeping Wave method with the Kraut WSY-70 2 mhz transducer. I have been told that I may want to look into a bi-modal probe as the WSY's are only good at material thicknesses above .375" The pipe that they are wanting evaluated is Sch 10 (roughly .109") 2 inch in diameter. The piping will be in service, approx. 200ºF. I haven't had much experiance with IGSCC and am wanting to use the best technique possible. They really don't care about giving them a thru wall total (30% thru wall ect.) pretty much if it is cracked, it is bad (as anything should be with that nominal wall thickness) Anyways, I was just looking for some help so that I can pass on the best recommendation to them. We have also looked into surface Eddy Current.
Thanks for any help or recommendations!!!! _________________ Where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them. Mathew 18:20 |
